The “Beta” Gave Me Hope and Results

To date, I’ve lost 14.6 lbs (from 256.4 to 241.8) and have also experienced enough improvement in blood pressure readings to ask my doctor to decrease my medication. Blood sugar readings are also improving–I am determined to continue with the beta to hopefully go off insulin altogether

The “beta” gave me hope and results. I’ve been struggling with increasing weight and chronic illness following a series of toxic exposure that has robbed me of my livelihood, many friendships and confidence in my abilities.

Since my toxic load keeps growing, my weight follows (toxins love to take up residence in fat cells)–and that makes detox difficult. (Exercise just floods my body systems with the toxins again.) I did have some caution about beginning a new program for that reason. Fortunately, after a 2 1/2 week adjustment period, and a loss of 7.2 lbs, I began to regain my momentum. To date, I’ve lost 14.6 lbs (from 256.4 to 241.8) and have also experienced enough improvement in blood pressure readings to ask my doctor to decrease my medication. Blood sugar readings are also improving–I am determined to continue with the beta to hopefully go off insulin altogether. (I’m only prescribed 5 units at present.)

While I still have chronic pain and muscle weakness, the knee joint pain from an old injury has improved after taking supplements included in the program. The most noticeable change (after weight loss) has been in digestion. The embarrassing bloating and gas has greatly improved–eliminating dairy and beans from my diet made all the difference. (I’d already learned I was gluten-intolerant over a year ago, and had eliminated gluten at that time). When I decided to treat myself to some Greek yogurt at a Thanksgiving potluck (where I stuck to the ‘beta’ diet otherwise), my digestive upset returned nearly immediately. I saw myself as “the underdog” going into the “beta”–I heard of others having rapid weight loss and other great benefits–but the program didn’t let me down, and that gave me what I needed to keep going. These are my “after” remarks, but I’m not done!
